Emblem of Israel

Advertise | AdChoices

Nobody would be pleased more than Saudi Arabia, if Israel got it on with Iran. First of all, they would have to give air clearance to Israel to fly over their territory.  There might be an Arab Spring, but it isn't going to happen in Saudi Arabia.  All hell would break loose if the Saudi oil fields went down.  Iraq used to counter balance the Iranians, but Bush blew that one.  Iran is getting to be the leader of the Arab world, and they really are not Arabs, they are remnant Persians, and speak it.  Saudis loath Iranians, and with the bomb, they could really be the Big Kid on the Block.

Iranians would like to see their former glory, civilization got a major boost from what used to be Persia.  With a radical theocracy, they believe that they can do it, again.  The only trouble is, nobody wants them to be a Big Boy again, just too inconvenient.   Europe does not want them, the Saudis do not want them, the Chinese just want oil, the Russians could really care less--they really don't "need" anybody or any friends (with one sixth the world's land mass and unlimited resources.)

All the middle east countries whine about Israel, and Israel is about as big as New Jersey, and is mostly a rock pile.  Christianity was started in Israel, and the US would defend it, as it has, and will.  The Arabs and Iran really don't have any argument that is worth a crap, about a piece of ground that would never be missed if it fell into the sea during a rain storm.  They (Arabs/Iran)  actually would not even want the Palestinians, if they had no place to go, anymore than you would want your poor relatives moving into your garage.

Nuclear weapons are not firecrackers.

Don't underestimate the desire of the religious community. Religious men can be so smart as to create apocalyptic weapons and can be so stupid to use them in hopes of bringing on judgement for what is left of the earth. A nuclear assault will bring on economic ruin, exactly where religion strives.

Iran from the OPEC meetings I've read about....is not getting to be a leader. The Iraqi's at one time were saying that Iranians were coming into Iraq and stirring up trouble which historically they are enemies.

What Iran is getting is in deep problems with the IAEA over their nuclear program. And they do have one. They also have ballistic missles. Put the two together, which is what the IAEA think they are doing, and they have the possibility of dropping one on either of two targets----Israel or Iraq. IMO they would drop one on Iraq first, just to test the waters so to speak.

The whole idea of Iran having a ballistic missle system with nuclear warheads is making All the Arabs dysfunctional, not just the western nations. And since Russia sold most of the tech, with some from China, the western nations aren't too happy with them either.

I think they are getting the wrong end of the stick being as how they probably, more than likely think, not know, but think that they can contain the nuclear fall out. I think they came up with this scenerio because of Fukushima. Though they are not Thinking of the contamination being more widespread and affecting other nations as well as the oil field equipment.

So yes, the Arab neighbors are not happy campers with Iranian's, their ambitions, their clergy or their nuclear technology. And neither is Israel or the western powers.

This is not about nuclear weapons . Who's got them and who ain't. Please

This is about oil revenues. The rest of the world has made massive discoveries in oil reserves. The Arabs and Persians are not going to be the wealth desert kingdoms we made them to be. Oil use is down around the world by 3% the past 5 Yeats.

Iran does not have a missle system that would deliver a complex nuclear weapon.. They just don't. The Koreans tried to explode a weapon in a cave. It didn't happen. To mount a nuclear weapon on a missle that will experience 15 to20 g's during the flight then explode over a target is way to much to expect.

So really the isrealis just want more money from everybody.

uhh Jake, they launched a small satellite into space. Washington Post: "Produced at an Iranian engineering university, Navid is the third small satellite that Iran has launched in recent years and is expected to remain in orbit for about two months. IRNA said Navid has advanced control technology, a higher resolution camera and photocells to generate power."

They do have the capability. And yes it is about nuclear, that is the crux of the problem. A non nuclear treaty nation composed of a government in place that is spouting... all the time about hatred for the US and for Israel and anyone that supports them, such as Saudia Arabia. One that Can deliver a nuclear weapon to a grid section of an oil field thus disabling and making the revenue for that nation .....totally useless for centuries.

Never underestimate the 'potential' of a potential or avowed enemy. Loosely interpreted from Sun Tzu

Absolutly! Mstanley.

But you can agree that a ballistic launch with a 100lbs payload not the same as arming a nuclear weapon in flight and hoping it does blow you up....

I don't buy into all the hate America stuff. After all the Iranians help elect the trickle down president in 1982.

As for Israel they have been riding this gravy train to long.. It's time to shed these leeches. A oil field hit by a 20mt device air blast would not keep the corporations from getting that oil...

In 1962. The strategic plan known as MAD is enough to keep anyone from a launched strike..

What is interesting is the dirt bomb concept. I have read now that the amount of material needed can now be detected at the boarder. So oil going up....

ehhh, Jake, technological people that can beat earth's gravity and successfully launch into the trajectory of an orbit around the earth.... not just one but three satellite's, have figured out how to make a nuclear ballistic weapon. They do have the ability to lock, load and aim....precisely.

It's the clerics, publically.... acknowledged as the leaders of Iran, that are the cause of concern.

I hope you don’t mind if I make a few comments here:

1- I don’t know if you all have heard of dynamic evolution which applies as laws of physical evolution to social and political evolution of mankind as well. The core is that each change affects the other and is affected by another. Phenomenon are inter related with each other and get effected and effect each other.

Therefore in science of politics it also applies to the fact that Iran is a collective equation of various parameters: the political network of the clerical clans, its socio-political phase, the combination of the classes and what makes them explode, the economical situation of the government and the effect of the corruption on the explosive mood of the people and most of all the existence of an organized opposition which has been the focal attention of the Regime Hierarchy in since its inception to power in 1979.

The nuclear issue and export of terrorism and Human right violations are the three pillars on which the clerics stay in power.

All of which have been revealed by its fierce opposition in the past 30 years in at least 100 press conferences.

2-Therefore the nuclear issue as reiterated in the last letter of the Founder of the present regime, Khomeini, the nuclear is the only means to gain access to attention and obedience of super powers to the clears needs. In that letter which was exposed many years ego by the same opposition, Khomeini replies his firs RGC commander (Rezaii at the time) that he does admit that “warmongering” does not resolve the needs to expand clerical rule but there is a more basic and effective weapons which will make the powers submit to Iran’s demand : nuclear

3- It is therefore the roots of the problem go back to the existence of the clerics. They need nuclear bomb to stay and implement hegemonic power over others as stated by Khomeini. His ambition has always been to establish and Islamic Empire og his brand (which is in sharp contrast to the real peaceful religious that it should be) and start its platform from Iraq to the middle east and then to the rest of the world.

4- The only , I repeat , the only force so far able to stand its suppression, massacre and mutli- billion smear campaign and assassination attempts has been its opposition the MEK. This explains for the sunomai of allegations and accusations hitting it.

5- Tehran has declared its long distance ballistic missiles which could carry nuclear warheads, it has also sent satellite into the atmosphere but do not forget that the most of the propaganda it got out of this was to: Calm its deserting members and RGC members who are leaving the regime because f infightings, internal mafia fighting’s and also rising social discontent and hatred towards them. Therefore as is colloquial joke among Iranians the regime once in a while “send to air and elephant “ to draw attention that it is still alive and fighting!

6- therefore the politics of US and the rest of the world over the threat of the mullahs nucs (which is real and must not be underestimated intentionally for election purposes or any other reason) will have to be in accordance to what the régime’s opposition is trying to do to change the regime.

7- To be more clear: the only solution to stop unnecessary war, bloodshed which will most definitely enclose the Iranian people and the poor US or Israeli soldiers and not politicians not the mullahs who always get away from paying any cost, is to :Change the regime.

8- This would mean the US administration, from what ever party it is, must put away the “walking behind” policy of appeasement and bending with the regime and be brave enough to go over its short term interests and clasp to Worlds long term interests and side with the people of Iran instead of the tyrants. Till now, it has not done so. It is dithering on taking sides. The reason is not clearly the nuclear issue only but a multi million dollar “pundit” and press campaign the regime has built around its needs to show it: peaceful, popular ad long lasting. All which are in reality false.

The US must take side with the people:

Continue the boycotts even add political ones , stop bullying and enchaining clerics opposition as good will gesture (MEK) the rest will be done by the people.

9- After Ian is freed from such totalitarian theocratic regime then the people will have time to share tolerance with the world.
