In Today's World, I guess everybody deserves their 15 minutes of fame or infamy. Some, just randomly happen to be in the "right place" at the "right time," or in the "wrong place" at the "right time."
Some News is very positive: Example, we are witnessing Olympic History by the very hour: New World Records, new Olympic Records, young people become instant heros (and Millionaires) in mere seconds of fame and glory. Some want notoriety in hideous ways: massive acts of terror or inhumanity -- forever to live in infamy.
Then there or those of us, who by some inner need to express a concept -- coin an expression that "sticks" like a mental "Post It" and forever becomes part of the lexicon of the era.
Most of the time, no one really knows the "origin" of a phrase, it is merely repeated over and over, until it becomes synonymous with a concept or object. Sometimes it is attributed to an article or some published format. We here on Newsvine have a unique opportunity to publish, and idea or concept that "pops into our heads." There is some responsibility with what we do here, but it is monitored by the community and by some peer authorities.
Well, finally to the point: Yes, I have read the current articles on the Web, much of which is about ecomonics -- after, all, the "bottom line" is usually monetary reward. But, there is some chance for originality -- so, here goes. Most of use are familiar with the phrase: Trickle Down Economics. Now that phrase is really an onomatopoeia. That was a good one, coined by David Stockman, Ronald Reagan's Budget Director. Hmm, not quite that level of notoriety, but here is my claim to 15 minutes. Just a Neo-slant on the same basic concept, but more along the lines of a newly coined term: Sweat Shop Capitalism. Really don't know who coined that one, but here is mine:
Golden Stream Economics
Pretty self-explanatory -- something like Capitalism based on peeing on the "small people" to gain economic advantage. Example: blantantly ignoring others rights, needs, expression, priviledges, pursuit of happiness; basically any maneuver or tactic within "protected status" or a Constitution Shield [1] (Justice Stevens desenting on BSA v Dale.
